Introducing our newest poraka, The Poutama Hoodie. Designed to be an everyday staple with Toi Māori subtly woven in.

Design Info

We chose to embroider Poutama down the sleeves of these hoodies as a way to carry whakapapa and growth with you every day. Poutama (the stepped pattern) represents the journey of learning, striving, and moving upward. It is often seen in tukutuku panels inside wharenui, symbolising both the climb towards knowledge and the steps our tūpuna took before us.

We have also had a kowhaiwhai designed satin hood to these pieces. Our Signature Kowhaiwhai design represents protection, whakapapa and belonging. We wanted these hoodies to hold many aspects of Te Ao Māori while also keeping them as an elevated basic.

Sizing

These are an oversized fit. Stay true to your tamariki usual size.

Material info

The outer fabric is 100% cotton, the hoodies have a polyester fleece lining. 
The hood lining is a polyester satin.
